PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club is pleased to share that Create It! Woodworks of Port Orchard is working on commemorative engraved wood magnets honoring the club’s first-ever Cascadia Premier League match.
“We received an email from Melanie Winnett of Create It! Woodworks,” says POFC Club Coordinator David Falk. “She was excited for the new team coming to Port Orchard and wanted to share in the moment by offering to create a wood design of some kind for the team.”
Falk was touched by the gesture and the two then began sharing notes and ideas about the process. “The first idea was a double-sided wood coin. Then we switched to something that also provided function, so a fridge magnet was the new direction.”
Create It! Woodworks will have a limited number of magnets to give out at the May 7, 2023 home opener to the first to arrive at the match. For those that miss out, they plan to make the magnets available at a reasonable price via their website. Melanie will be sharing updates during the process of making the collectors items. “Melanie and Create It! Woodworks are examples of what is happening right here in Port Orchard,” says Falk. “The community is opening their hearts to the new team and the results are wonderful sharing of talents that celebrate new connections.”
