Gabe Threadgold Joins POFC Before CPL2 Playoff Roster Freeze

PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club is excited to reveal that Gabe Threadgold has been added to the club’s CPL2 roster and will be eligible for the upcoming promotion playoffs.

Cascadia Premier League playoff rosters were due to freeze on July 18 at midnight. Head Coach Pat Leonard worked with General Manager Sam Ironside and Threadgold to get Gabe on the POFC roster in time.

Gabe lists his home town as Bremerton. He attended Central Kitsap High School where he got to know Leonard even though he was already playing with the Sounders Academy.

Gabe Threadgold played this summer for Vermont Green FC in the USL2.

A 2019 Kitsap Daily News article recaps some of Gabe’s rise in and beyond the Kitsap soccer community. He’s now listed as a midfielder and as a red-shirt junior for the powerhouse University of Washington Huskies. Gabe saw action in 20 matches for UW last season and played over 1,300 minutes for the Purple and Gold.

He spent the earlier part of his summer with Vermont Green FC of the USL2.

Port Orchard Pushes For Promotion

Port Orchard FC (9-0-0) have clinced the Pacific Division title and will play in the CPL2 promotion playoffs on Friday July 28 in Puyallup, tentatively scheduled for 7 PM at the Washington Premier FC Field Complex. A win would push the club into a championship match on Sunday July 30.

Before then, Port Orchard closes out the regular season Sunday night July 23 with a visit to Olympia to play Thurston County FC at 7:30 PM at Tumwater High School Stadium.
