About POFC

Port Orchard Football Club (POFC) is a men’s adult soccer team competing regionally in the state of Washington during part of the calendar year. The club was founded in 2023 and has competed in the Cascadia Premier League (CPL) for three years. POFC has advanced to three straight championship finals, winning promotion out of CPL2 in 2023 and claiming the CPL1 trophy in 2025. POFC regularly draws crowds of 500 or more for home matches and is well supported by the soccer community of Kitsap County.
This season POFC will compete in the statewide Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA.)
POFC holds player open tryouts annually in April, begins training shortly after, and plays a season of league matches and competitive friendlies May through the end of July (mostly on weekends.) Players range in age from 18 to 30 or older and include mainly guys from West and South Sound. The Assistant Coach position is a 4-month contract. Port Orchard FC is a 501c3 Nonprofit.
There is a stipend for both positions.
Assistant Coach Job Description
The 2026 season goes April-July (4 months.) The Assistant Coach of POFC will work with Head Coach Max Sampson and the club General Manager(s) and Coordinator to provide a quality platform for players to compete. This will include attending open tryouts, attending and occasionally running training sessions, offering supporting advice on tactics, and other assigned duties given by the head coach.
The Ideal Candidates
The ideal candidates will have soccer connections to Kitsap County or greater west sound, a history of coaching adult men or higher youth levels, a talent for community outreach to fans and players, a desire to be part of a team environment, and a clear no-nonsense communication style. Both positions have a year-to-year increasing part time pay scale.
We are looking for an Assistant Coach who can:
- Assume the duties for a club with proven success and multiple trophies when called upon by the club or the head coach.
- Assist in planning and / or running meaningful training sessions
- Recruit elite adult players locally and regionally
- Represent POFC professionally at all times
Goalkeeper Coach Job Description
The 2026 season goes April-July (4 months.) The Goalkeeper Coach will run training drills with POFC goalkeepers. They will communicate with the Head Coach and Assistant Coach about their players, including equipment needs, tactics, availability for matches and health / injury status. They will offer direction and enhance the goalkeeping experience at POFC.
