Club Record 11 Goals For POFC In Home Opener

PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club set a club record for goals scored in a single match on Sunday May 25 as the home side blasted Steel United 11-2 at Kitsap Bank Stadium. The 9-goal winning margin matches a 9-0 win back in July of 2023.

It was a comprehensive effort that began with Steel striking first. A blast from the left side put the visitors up 1-0 in the early stages. Laying out plans for a 3-5-2 formation, POFC adjusted and then never looked back.

First half goals came from Dominik Pajimola (11th minute), Jake MacKenzie (assist Dominik Pajimola, 19th minute), Jake MacKenzie (assist Dominik Pajimola, 24th minute), Caleb Gilbert (assist Kai Pahl, 31st minute), Michael Divano (33rd minute), Jaden Joseph (assist Jaggar Judkins, 45th minute.) It was 6-1 at the half.

Second half goals from POFC were scored by Aidan Harvey (62nd minute), Dominik Pajimola (assist Joschi Schelb, 64th minute), Michael Divano (assist Matt Ludlow, 82nd minute), Michael Divano (assist Jonathan Mendoza, 85th minute) and Matt Ludlow (assist Connor Louden, 88th minute.) Steel United could only counter with a penalty kick conversion.

Match Notes

In three seasons POFC is 11-3 in matches played at Kitsap Bank Stadium.

Michael Divano’s hat trick gives him 37 goals scored all-time for POFC. Divano had the club’s first-ever hat trick (3 goals) against Steel United on May 7, 2023. He has now scored 5 hat tricks for the club.

Season Pass sales were bumped up by a strong walk-up crowd purchasing the lanyards. The Memorial Day weekend crowd enjoyed the weather and all the goals. 502 tickets were sold to the contest.

The next POFC match is June 7 at Kitsap Bank Stadium when CPL1 Champions Sharktopus FC come to Port Orchard for a 5 PM kick off.

Eastside FC have dropped out of the CPL1 due to lack of players to form a team. Nido Aguila Club America Seattle will take their place and fulfill their schedule, including a July 6 POFC home match.
