PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club continued to get solid coverage from The Kitsap Sun and Kitsap Daily News / Port Orchard Independent over the 2025 season.
Journalists Jeff Graham (Kitsap Sun), Elisha Meyer and Luke Caputo (Kitsap Daily News) stayed connected with Kitsap County’s men’s semi-pro soccer club through the POFC official website and also weekly press releases sent out by Club Coordinator David Falk.
“We really appreciate the coverage we continue to get from our local newspapers,” says Falk. “It means a lot to us, our players, our families, our supporters and the growth of what we are building to see our stories online and in print.”

February Article On Community Support
The Kitsap Sun kicked off their 2025 coverage of Port Orchard FC early on (February 5, 2025) with an article about fans and community stepping up to help with rising field and stadium costs. The headline read “Community aids Port Orchard Football Club after stadium rental fees climb.”

Knocking Off Sharktopus FC
The June 13 Port Orchard Independent (Kitsap Daily News online) covered the big POFC win over last year’s league final opponent, Sharktopus FC. The 4-1 triumph signaled a changing of the guard at the top of the Cascadia Premier League.

Rolling Towards Playoffs
The end of local high school sports seasons allowed Jeff Graham time to switch over to covering POFC’s run to the 2025 CPL1 Championship. The Sun checked in on June 22 with a front of sports page look at the season and player commitment.

Playing In Bremerton
The Sun followed up with preview coverage of an ‘away’ POFC match at Bremerton High School.

To The Finish Line
The coverage went right down to the finish line with three front of sports page stories during the playoffs. There was a preview, and then coverage of the semifinals and finals in the Kitsap Sun.

Hometown Ink
The Kitsap Daily News / Port Orchard Independent wrapped up the season with coverage in their August 8 edition.
