PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club took its first on-pitch steps towards life in the Evergreen Premier League (EPLWA) by holding an open tryout on Sunday April 12 at Kitsap Bank Stadium.
Head Coach Max Sampson and Assistant Coach Joshua Coetzee took trialists through multiple scrimmage routines, watching for those glimmers of excellence that signal an invitation to continue training is warranted.
POFC begins training on April 20 as the league season fast approaches. The home opener is set for Sunday May 10 at 3 PM with a visit by Bellingham United.
The tryout is part of a three-pronged approach to building the 2026 Port Orchard roster. There is also reaching out to last year’s guys, and inviting guest players in during training.
