PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club is excited to announce that Pierce County soccer player and entrepreneur Armando Valdez is joining the Official Roster. Armando attended open tryouts and has excelled in training as the club prepares for its debut match on April 30 at SKHS against Nido Aguila Club America Seattle.
“Armando has been a top performer every day we have worked together,” says POFC Head Coach Patrick Leonard. “His vision and touch are high quality and more than anything, he really gets what we are trying to build here. He is a strong outside back that brings the exact type of attacking style of play we are asking for.”

A Soccer Career
Armando played varsity all four years at Clover Park High School in Lakewood. He’s now the Head Coach of the Clover Park girls soccer team and was honored as the 2022 SPSL 2A Coach of the Year.
Valdez played two years in the NWAC with the Pierce College Raiders. Since then his playing journey has included time with NPSL club OSA FC Seattle as well as with Space United Seattle in the NISA Independent Cup.

Armando founded Selva Football, a budget-friendly soccer coaching and training business in Puyallup, WA. They work with players starting at 4 years old, all the way up to clients who play in professional leagues.
A Big Deal For Port Orchard
“The expressions on our coaches faces when Armando committed to Port Orchard say it all,” POFC Coordinator David Falk reveals. “They know he is talented enough to have options, and joining us as a new team is a big deal for us. Beyond the playing side, Armando’s Selva Football connections open up other possible avenues for our community as well.”

Valdez Makes Six
Armando (Lakewood) joins Sam Gomez (Bremerton), Kolby Juarez (Silverdale), Bryan Weathington (Port Orchard), Aidan Harvey (Bremerton) and Nick Riders (Bremerton) on the Official Roster for the 2023 debut season of Port Orchard Football Club.
POFC will continue to announce players as the season approaches. The first-ever match comes on Sunday April 30 with a 3 PM Friendly against Nido Aguila Club America Seattle at South Kitsap High School’s Ed Fisher Field.
