Sam Meade Crosses The Bridge (And Pond) To Port Orchard FC

PORT ORCHARD, WA—Port Orchard Football Club is happy to announce that midfielder Sam Meade has joined the Official Roster for the 2023 season. Meade is a Curtis High School graduate who calls University Place, Tacoma, home.

Sam Meade joins the POFC midfield.

“Sam is a player that was brought to my attention from guys training with him,” says POFC Head Coach Patrick Leonard. “Once we had Sam out training with the guys he stood out as a strong player. First impressions were that he was going to be a player that lifts the level of this squad. He carries himself the way you’d want any player to. He’s dedicated to his craft and is always willing to work hard. I’m thrilled we were able to bring Sam into the squad.”

In the introduction interview posted above, Meade talks about his soccer career. He played elite club ball with Fury / Steel United. At Curtis his head coach was Eddie Na. His club coaches included Derek Johnson, Chris Kettman and Neil Megson.

Recruited to Pacific University, Sam instead chose the opportunity to go overseas to the Steven Gerrard Academy in Liverpool, England.

Meade connected with Port Orchard FC through his training with Matthew Eronemo. That’s where he met POFC player-coach Sam Gomez, who invited him out to training.

On Saturday April 22 Meade was one of four players asked to wear the Port Orchard FC kit for the very first time at a fan Meet & Greet event at Primary Sponsor El Sombrero Mexican Family Restaurant. His hair not pulled back in a bun like it is in training, Sam was all smiles as he walked around the crowd and posed for pictures with his mates.
